How can I help someone that I love recovering from a drug addiction?
My husband is recovering from heroin addiction and I don’t know what I can do to help him. He has been taking suboxone’s for 2 days now and I just feel that I can do something more to make his recovery better. Anything will help! I would love to hear success stories. Thanks!
Find a great NA group for him and Al-anon for you (the one for family members of addicts). Trust him to go to the meetings, but beware that some ppl there are court ordered and def trouble. Make sure his sponsor is a man and has at least 10 years sober. he should go three times a day to start then once a day forever.
Keep him away from people, places, things that triggered use in the past.
Low stress: admit you’re wrong to avoid fights, etc, for a while.
Only he controls his fate: get to a meeting.
